Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the present participle in Bulgarian and itstranslation equivalents in the Serbian language by making a comparison between them. Similarities and differences are notedbetween the structures in both these Slavic languages, as well as the problems that appear in the translation process, their solutions. The translation strategies and linguistic resources, used by translators to convey the meaning of the text and keep grammatical peculiarities arealso described.
