Summary/Abstract: The study reveals the total originality of the harmonic conception developed in the process of music creation by composer Tudor Jarda, relying on the authentic folk song from Transylvania. The principles of this harmony developed using two vertical elements: “the ison” (single, double, multiple) and the verticality of the melodic interval. Among these intervals the second and the fourth were preferred. The imitative and non-imitative polyphony and and many "melodic notes" add thereto.
