Summary/Abstract: The activity of Halford J. Mackinder in 1919-1920, in the context of the projects of Intermarium (the region between the Baltic and Black seas) alliance is considered. The relations between Mackinder and Józef Piłsudski, Anton Denikin, Pyotr Wrangel are analyzed. The attempts of Mackinder to implement the concept of "middle tier", international alliance of Intermarium, are highlighted, the result of these efforts on the formation of Polish state borders is determined.
