Summary/Abstract: Abstract Entrepreneurial activities perceived by many as risky ones. There are many examples where such activities failed, causing substantial losses. One of the possible reasons for this is that most entrepreneurs act intuitively, on a hunch. Any tool enabling more structured, scientific approach can help with managing the risk of entrepreneurial activities. TRIZ has started as pure technical theory, helping to boost technical innovation. Recently it began to cross disciplinary boundaries, finding applications in many non technical fields, including management and business. Current article presents the idea of using TRIZ for the purpose of managing entrepreneurial activities. It argues, that while implementation of TRIZ has its costs and difficulties, its benefits could overweight its costs. Case study of real life example is presented. Key words: entrepreneurship, opportunities identification, TRIZ, case study, business practice
