Summary/Abstract: In the article author examined the emergence of the concept of "postmodernism", his art and theoretical-practical-art semantic features. Carried out an analysis of the classical approaches to the definition of the category of "postmodernism", its semantic characteristics, which are the most stable basis for the theory of postmodernism.
