The Function of Citizen Poetry in the Works of Jakov Ignjatović and Stevan Sremac

Summary/Abstract: The works of Jakov Ignjatović and Stevan Sremac from the period of literary realism are interpreted through a prism of influence of the serbian realism on their creations. The function of this poetry (as well as it's significance) is manifesting in a vivid distinguishing feature of the figures, in attempt to show through a song something that isn't usually allowed, in order to reach a humorous contrast.
