Eulogy for the Academic Community

Summary/Abstract: A speech delivered by prof. Mihail Nedelchev at the official opening of 2016/17 academic year at the New Bulgarian University. His main point is that entering university is an important biographic experience, that it is not only about learning but also about new ways of communication. He sketches the unique NBU community while at the same time tracing different places and traditions of university live – at Stanford and Berkeley in the US, at Warsaw and Krakow in Poland, at Uppsala in Sweden.
