Summary/Abstract: It is widely excepted that to glorify the ideology of the ruling system has always been one of the function of the art. So throughout the many periods of the history the art, especially painting, has been supported by the leading political authorities to strengthen their power. In this work it is aimed to analyze the art of painting as a means of ideology in Turkey and the effects of the political authority and ideology of the term on the art of painting when the art has been supported strongly, the era of one party. In the stated term, the paintings that compose the research field have been produced for the project the ruling party has funded, and by the painters who considered the state necessary to keep and make art.
