Summary/Abstract: The general philosophical meaning of suicide is still often connected with the problem of free will, which translates incorrectly not only into everyday life but also into philosophical treatises. The connection of suicide to the problem of free will is mentioned by the stoic, Seneca, who named suicide a liberation from the necessity of nature.
