Summary/Abstract: In Le Jeu de la Feuillée, the author Adam de la Halle becomes the central character of his work. The beginning of the play surprises him taking his leave from his friends and the people in Arras. The poet wants to leave his hometown to start a new life. The change of “abit” that he mentions should be considered as a change of his way of thinking. When the personal values system begins to contrast with that of the social values, the poet dreams of a journey of “self-knowledge”.
