Summary/Abstract: Nowadays medical responsibility is a very important issue in private law. However, Roman Private Law had already been concerned about several aspects of civil responsibility of the medical doctor, pointing out, at times, different, but possible solutions, to a particular issue, which highlights the fact that it is a polemical and complex matter.
