Summary/Abstract: Textile technology is considered to be one of the oldest and most important crafts in human history. The development of textile production most likely started in Upper Paleolithic, long before the appearance of ceramic vessels.Yet, given that textile, like other organic materials, leaves no trace in archaeological record, the study of textile in archaeological literature has been almost completely neglected until two decades ago. The paper focuses on data about activities related to the production of textiles in Late Neolithic of the central Balkans, primarily on the processing of plant fibers, as well as the role of ceramic vessels in this process.
