Summary/Abstract: Women, as well as ensuring the continuation of generations of culture has assumed a major role in transporting and transmitting to future generations and the stage of history where mankind has taken place since the day together with the men. Female, the male complement and companion at all times the family foundation of our culture her husband, wife, mother of their children. The first information relevant to woman in the Turkish Culture are encountered in cosmogonic myths and in Orkhon inscriptions as written sources. Women, almost sacred epics brought to an entity of that against women has been concerned with an unwavering respect and loyalty. The best horse riding, sword fighting, and women use to express the opinion of the administrative and political matters, the king took the side of the point. In the course of developing and changing social process, we see the Turkish Woman in the urban life “behind the scenes”. Due to the life maintaining behind closed doors, it was impossible to learn from women playing a part such as spouse, mother, bondwoman personally what kind of emotional fluctuations they have. Traces of such a “foggy” world have been reflected sometimes by the stories of male narrators and sometimes by the foreign voyagers. In the eulogy show tradition which has an important place in folk drama, woman gets out of her mysterious world. In the said story texts, she is put first with her sexual identity while sometimes she was ignorant and sometimes considerably subtle and clever. From the indicated points forth, in this study it is aimed to enter into the “foggy” world of the woman “behind the scenes”. To this end, women reflected in the maddah stories with the eye of male narrator shall be identified and the woman projection in the stories shall be evaluated.
