Summary/Abstract: Oral and written communication skills of students related to language teaching practices is very important. Using stereotypical words in effective oral and written communication enriches the power of a text. One of those stereotypical words is proverbs. Proverbs is one of the elements of oral culture of societies past experiences that show. Sayings on the one hand through the past experiences, lessons from these experiences noticeably on the other hand. In addition, proverbs, plays an important role in increasing awareness of linguistic and cultural individuals. Proverbs can be seen as stereotypical words in children’s language learning developmental procedure. In this study, the use of proverbs Turkish teachers’ views on the educational environment is evaluated. In this study, qualitative research method was used. The study involved 30 Turkish teacher and expert opinion that the participants were asked questions. The questions have been developed in relation to the sub-research questions. Movement of data analysis was carried out within the framework of the responses given to questions. The collected data firstly encoded and then brought together under several categories. Participated in the study in accordance with the opinions of Turkish teachers, proverbs contribute to the development of the child provided by the educational dimension can be said. The participant teachers in this study highlighted that are very significant in teaching vocabulary, comprehension, grammar practices, cultural awareness and so on. Parallel to this, to carry from place to place in spite of some limitations, proverbs is necessary to teaching Turkish language and culture reveals. Moreover, the participants emphasized that proverbs are important in teaching speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The findings of the study depict that teacher are in favor of using proverbs in developing children’s’ language awareness process.
