Summary/Abstract: The mural painting of Borzeşti and Măgura Ierii churches was considered, based on reading notes from on an old book, the work of painter Peter from Topârcea but the comparative stylistic analysis of the painting with the painter’s creation in close proximity to Sibiu indicates the work of another painter that we identify as painter Nistor from Feleac. To support the proposed approach, besides the wood paintings made by the painter Nistor, a similar painting signed by him is needed for the comparative iconographic and stylistic analysis. The difficulty of this approach begins at this point, because from the decor paintings made by the painter apparently nothing survived, by example, we know about the wood Suceag church mural painting, demolished in the interwar period, signed and dated at 1771 by painter Nistor and Ioan. The research conducted at the wooden churches at which The Feleac painter painted wooden icons puts us in front of pictorial decorations still unassigned that could be the work of the painter in an early stage af his creation between 1767-1781 when his painting style strongly identifies with that of his master, painter Nechita or we find churches that were destroyed and only summary data have been preserved. The wooden church in Luna de Sus, signed and dated at 1795 by the painter Nistor, now kept in the Dragoslavele Hermitage (Arges county), supports the assignment of the two pictorial decorations from Borzeşti and Magura Ierii.
