Summary/Abstract: Birds, as well as all the world’s cultures, has an important place in Turkish culture. Throughout history people have been allowed time to time to be afraid, and alarming. Birds from time to time as a part of the faith, has a symbolic meaning. Turks bird figures often found in pre-Islamic belief systems. Outside of Anatolia, the Kazakh-Kyrgyz and Bashkir folklore bird has gained acceptance as an important symbol. Birds, folk songs is one of the animals frequently encountered. Turaç in the formation of folk songs that have been a source of inspiration. Ability of birds to fly, colors, and singing in folk songs to them from other animals made it even more special. Some birds have become a symbol of their geography. This kind of became the symbol of the Çukurova songs of the birds, the Turaç emphasized this aspect. It also influenced the people and the Turaç for the extinction of folk song Çukurova. This study will focus on the role and importance of Turaç in Çukurova folksong. Çukurova, which features folk songs which will be determined subject. Turaç to be a symbol of Çukurova, bird reporting function (to herald the arrival of spring, the migration time of the plateau to report), francolin examined under headings such as the extinction.
