Satisfaction of needs and fulfilment of personal aspirations during higher education – opinion of the Generation Z students

Summary/Abstract: Generation Z encompasses students born after 1995. Due to the conduct of life ascribed to them, as well as the expectations and preferences connected with personal development and lifestyle they lead, it is a specific research category which presents different life categories than their predecessors. We should think whether the environment of a university or college still constitutes an important place in the life of a young student, constituting a contribution to the fulfilment of their life needs and plans. The first part of the text describes social and professional functioning of the Generation Z. The text also presents the results of research conducted among a group of students from the Dolnośląskie voivodeship, classified in the following categories, according to the problem: preferences of young students concerning the university education manner, preferences connected with studying method, perception of the university environment and the definition of oneself as its student, preferences concerning conduct of life, preferences connected with life choices and possibilities of their fulfilment at a university.
