Summary/Abstract: About Switzerland as a still remaining "island of the beatified" copmared with other European countries and the social and economic crisis there. Nevertheless even in Switzerland the "national consense" seems to crumble as can be observed in the results of various elections in 2004. There is a "neoliberal project" in Switzerland as well, but it can be realized only at the price of social disintegration.
