Summary/Abstract: Building trust to financial markets’ institutions is a complex task. Following the ethical norms is one of the key elements in this process. The purpose of the paper is to discuss the impact of ethical conduct of professionals to building trust to the financial institutions and to compare the rules of professional conduct of the selected group of specialists. The paper analyses the Polish and globall canons of ethics, reports examining the level of confidence to financial institutions, as well as literature. It also discusses issues related to ethics in financial markets and its impact to building trust to financial markets. Polish financial institutions benefit fully from the experiences of developed markets. The standards of professional ethics of the financial markets’ professionals in Poland do not differ from international canons, making a significant contribution to increasing the confidence to the financial markets, the level of which is being rebuilt after the financial crisis.
