Summary/Abstract: Coordination is a synthetic directive of efficient functioning. The article presents issues regarding the efficient functioning of complex systems, which the supply chains are. The aim of the publication is listing selected aspects from the field of praxeology with the concept of coordination and the integration of complex systems, which the supply chains are. The task is not only the synthetically presented aspects, but also their placement in a wider theoretical context. The article was presented on the basis of literature from a studied area. It was divided into three basic parts. The first part discusses the supply chain, as a system, with the consideration of its basic forms of coupling. The second part focuses on presenting the actions of the supply chain and its efficiency. The third part refers to praxeological aspects of the directive of efficient function and its guidelines, in relations to coordination and integration of supply chains.
