Summary/Abstract: People’s Catholic Universities were the places of extracurricular educational purposes for adults. They have been reborn in Poland after the year 1989. Education in People’s Catholic Universities was closely related to system transformation in Poland and the educational needs of local towns and villages. As pastoral-educational agencies they propagated spiritual values (religious, cognitive, moral, esthetic), vital values related to human’s life and health, and pragmatic values connected with social-vocational teaching. In the process of education such significant principles as helpfulness, solidarity and social justice were introduced.
