Summary/Abstract: In the article I focus on social consequences of new technologies the use of which is frequently termed as digital turn. I bring closer the main approaches and evaluations of this turn as well as axiologically indifferent diagnoses and descriptions, namely: • Progress, transhumanism, bonne socièté; • Regression, posthumanism, de-hominization, „The end of society” ; • Benefits and threats unseparable; • Between logosphere and technosphere ; • Filo- and Ontogenetic perspective ; • Cultural and institutional time lag ; • Two worlds: cross-generational perspective ; • Complexity and chaotization of social processes; • Permanent crisis?; • Dynamic cycle. Most discourses on social change in XXI c. can be placed in these conceptual frameworks. Each would demand more elaborated approach, but in the relatively brief article I can but confine to outline only main lines of argumentation.
