Summary/Abstract: The author of the paper starts from the difference delineating a pedagogue – practitioner and a pedagogue – researcher pointing both to the features getting them closer and to those significantly separating them and manifesting in the process of scientific work realization. Special attention is paid to the issues of humanism, humanistic culture, norms and ideals of knowledge, values determining the work of a scientist, and finally to the question of freedom reflecting the essence of scientist’s existence.
