Summary/Abstract: The subject-matter of this paper is the periodical bearing the title “Nasza Jutrzenka”, published in Lviv in the period between the wars. The target readers of it were the children and young people of Jewish origin. The author has explained the upbringing conception of the periodical in question, which consisted in combining knowledge and cultural competences making it possible to fulfill their duties towards Poland, with the formation of Jewish identity. The analysis of the contents of the periodical in question has made it possible to separate the principal forms of journalism and activity in the field of literature, which made it possible to accomplish the objectives referred to hereinabove. These forms were constituted by texts shedding more light upon the significance of national holidays, and also upon the individuals serving in the highest capacities in the state, by articles devoted to the activity of social organizations in the school, elaborations devoted to Polish, Polish-Jewish and Jewish history, the biographies of the representatives of Polish and Jewish culture, and also by fiction. The editorial team of “Nasza Jutrzenka” placed emphasis upon the events and historical figures that provided evidence that it was possible for both of the nations to collaborate within one and the same state.
