Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the issue of schooling and further education of teachers. In, established in 1807, the Duchy of Warsaw was taken development the network of elementary education. An important obstacle in the implementation of this task was the lack of an adequate number of qualified teachers. Therefore, they could not quickly develop their teaching seminars in Lowicz and Poznan, the House Public Education and the Directorate of National Education, employed in schools, individuals without qualification of teaching. These qualifications they had gotten in the way of self-education. There were prepared for them instructions, primer with methodical commentary and auxiliary pedagogical literature, reflecting the achievements of Polish pedagogical from the period of the National Education Commission, as well as Western Europe. Educational policy of the Chamber of Education and the Directorate of National Education in the field of elementary education continued, especially during the first five years of its activity, the Government Commission of Religion and Public Education. The reflection of this was release in 1817. "Instructions for teachers of primary schools in rural and urban areas." It should be emphasized that the pedagogical and methodical literature from period 1807–1831 contained not only a large resource of modern subject knowledge, but also practical guidance for plan.
