A comprehensive vision on the defining features of micro-states

Summary/Abstract: This article is aimed at re-evaluating part of the literature describing microstates. As I will show, there is no unanimously accepted definition of microstates within the academic community. However, it is clear that some common traits of such international actors are to be identified, both from a strategic and economic point of view. Most of them have also been influenced by the process of decolonization. This gives us hope that one day we might find a definition that better describes core features of microstates.
