Summary/Abstract: Music since ancient times, up to present days had been caused by movement from one side, and on the other causing movement. Field of interest, which is the essence of this work is focused on one particular type of movement - manual movement. Music and its essential traits - rhythm and melody, and movements, in this case the manual, have always been in the correlation. Development and role, and therefore purpose and function of manual movements in music education varied during period of time, from the beginning of man, to the present time. The paper talking about different methods of learning via a manual movement through historical context and educators who have implemented their knowledge in practical application, referring only to the most relevant. This paper aims to show the transfer of knowledge in music education from a historical point of view, where are the manual movements such as hand signs or fonomimia for tone height and dactiloritmia for tone duration, crucial to the success of the teaching and acceptance of knowledge. It is well known that in music pedagogy alternated of various models. Some were more accepted, some less, but for high quality implementation of material is necessary to recognize and analyze not only the currently valid and actual systems, but those opposing to them.
