Summary/Abstract: This article considers understudied topic how practices of children physical punishment are formed. The research has proved that use of physical punishment is the mechanism of social status reproduction for lower social strata. The creative class, creative, educated and independent people deny the use of physical punishment in the education of their children. The traditional type of family, where the man provides material well-being and the woman educates the children, does not reduce the use of physical punishment. The two-parents family cannot guarantee more human attitude to the child. Physical punishment is applied primarily to educate such traditional values as hard work, thrift and obedience.
