Summary/Abstract: This article aims to clarify the family structure of Albanian society in the second decade of the twentieth century, based on census data of 1918. I will try to compare the household structure of the population of Albania with theories on the family and household structures of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Analysis in this article will be based largely on statistical analysis of census data on 1918 census conducted by the Austro-Hungarian troops during the First World War in their area of ​​military administration in Albania. This census constitutes the main source of demographic analysis of family structure and household Albanian population during the second decade of the century. XX.In the period of registration Albanian territory occupied and administered by the Austro-Hungarian Empire was divided into 6 regions, 26 districts and 114 municipalities, while the area of ​​registration includes an area of ​​20,096 km² (28 000 km² of the entire country) with a population of 524,217 inhabitants, living in a density of 26 inhabitants / km. From census data, in the Austro-Hungarian 13.1% of the population lived in six cities, namely in Shkodra, Tirana, Elbasan, Kruje, Durres and Kavaja.
