Summary/Abstract: With his unique interpretation of the arts and the artists and methodological and theoretical studies, Andrej Mitrović had clearly positioned himself in the profession which gave the basis for his personal identity. In his analyses of the writings by Thomas Mann, Stefan Zweig, Miloš Crnjanski, Miroslav Krleža, Milan Rakić; the works by the painters Georg Grosz, Otto Dix, August Macke, Wassily Kandinski, Kazimir Malevich, El Lissitzky, Mario Mafai, the cineastes Chaplin, Bertolucci, István Szabó... Andrej Mitrović has interconnected traditional historiographic method with great changes brought by new readings of the rebellious postmodern thinkers. Thus, he introduced interdisciplinary approach quarter of a century before it was strongly promoted in our scientific circles.
