Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to discuss the concept of telework, analyze the trends of telework in Lithuania as well as benefits and challenges to the employees. The diversity of existing telework concepts leads to a number of difficulties in developing an appropriate research methodology on telework and comparing the results of different studies. The data indicate that telework is not very widespread in Lithuania. Its coverage remains almost stable for the period of already three years, however, there is a potential for this form of work to expand in Lithuania. The qualitative study shows the importance of telework benefits for individuals such as the freedom of time management, the opportunities to balance work and personal life. However, at the same time, teleworkers indicate that they work overtime and there are no clear limits between work-life boundaries.
