Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the impact of social and ideological factors (city, capital, official standard language ideology) on the perception of the best language in the community of the Lithuanian language. The basis of research is metalinguistic evaluation of Vilnius speech and Vilnius speakers extracted by a number of methods from different groups of subjects.
