Summary/Abstract: On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the painter and academic Jovan Bijelic, Gallery of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Gallery of Matica Srpska organized an exhibition of his works. Exhibition “Jovan Bijelić’s Belgrade” is the concept of Professor of Art History at Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade Simona Čupić. In an interview given to the magazine “Artum,” Professor Čupić spoke about the idea and the concept that accompanies the exhibition itself, about the importance of Belgrade’s motives, the differences and similarities of Belgrade and the Bosnian landscapes. Professor Čupić spoke about the portraits of Belgrade bourgeoisie during the first half of the 20th century, and also on the impact of the private life of the painter in his art.
