Summary/Abstract: One of the oldest quarters in town of Srebrenica is Crvena rijeka quarter. Its geographic position is located in the lower course of the eponymous river. It is connected with Srebrenica downtown (čaršija2) near Čaršijska mosque. Crvena rijeka quarter in Srebrenica at the end of the Ottoman and the beginning of Austro-Hungarian period had dozens of residential houses of worship (mosque) in the center, a number of ancillary buildings, several mills and fountains, the cemetery next to the mosque ... Basic characteristics of Crvena rijeka quarter in the late 19th century expressed the characteristics of oriental Bosnian quarters as with most other Bosnian cities. Oriental Bosnian characteristics of Crvena rijeka quarter are not only expressed in the outdoor, building and architectural features, but also in other social contents, such as social, economic, ethnic, religious and cultural structure of the population. In short, in all of its structural activities, the basic characteristics of Crvena rijeka quarter in the late 19th century represented the authentic look of traditional Bosnian oriental city quarter. In the quarter then lived mostly native-indigenous families, such as Ahmetović, Đozić, Klančević, Pašić, Šehomerović and others. The houses in Crvena rijeka quarter had immigrant families as well, among which the most famous were: Travničanin, a.k.a. Drevišagić and Siručić. The structure of the population consisted of all the existing structural elements of society at that time. Artisans, merchants and ulema3 dominated dominated this population.
