XVIIth century Transylvanian printings in the collections of Mures County Library

Summary/Abstract: Research of old holdings held by public libraries might trigger surprising results as for identification of some rare printings or reconstruction of historical libraries that were held, at a certain moment, by different personalities of culture or institutions. The extensive old book holdings held by Mures County Library comprise two great collections, that from Special Collections Office. Teleki Library and that from the Culture Palace. This study presents four titles of Transylvanian old book from the latter half of XVIIth century, printed in Cluj and Sibiu by renowned typographers of the time: Szenczi Kertész Ábráham, Veresegyhazi Mihaly and Tótfalusi Kis Miklos; the authors of the works are also remarkable personalities of the culture from the XVIIth century Transylvania: György Komáromi Csipkés, Pataki István, Szathmárnémethi Samuel or Debreceni Ember Pál.
