DEVELOPMENT OF PRESS IN THE WORLD AND IN SERBIA

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the main facts related to the development of press in the world and in our country. It gives a comprehensive study of the topic and a breakdown of basic terms and facts given in literature about this subject up to now. The aim of the paper is to show the genesis and development of the journalistic genres under the influence of different extralinguistic factors. At the same time, the paper points out a fact that roots of many characteristics of temporary journalism date back to the time of the first newspapers.
