Summary/Abstract: A dramatic testimony about the aftermath of the war in the former Rhodesia – now Zimbabwe – on a social, economic and psychological level. The victors – the blacks – are confronted with lawless tribal conflicts, political tensions, economic crises which deepen poverty. The vanquished – the former white colonists – are either living with the feeling of guilt, when they become aware of the horrors to which they took an active part, or they maintain their hatred and hostility towards those who are taking over their lands, or they leave the former “theatre of war”, in order to start over their life elsewhere.
