Summary/Abstract: The paper dealing with the field of Dialect-Lexicography has an objective to compare important questions concerning German Dialect-Lexicography with the specific aspects of the praxis in Lexicography connected to Language-Island Research on the basis of examples from the Dictionary of the German minorities in Hungary (WUM). Priority is given to Modus and to the possible variants and practice of meaning explication together with the techniques of lemmata marking which must be taken into consideration as diatopic and diastratic aspects of dialect-lemma depiction. From the point of view of the lexicographic practice fundamental questions emerge concerning both the concept and related theoretical issues and the treatment of the relevant techniques.
