Summary/Abstract: From the forgotten pages of the Old Testament, from the literature of wisdom the figure of Hokma-Sophia or Divine Wisdom takes shape who is a personal reality, feminine and maternal in character and has a cosmological and ethical role1. According to a more general conviction, her apparent personal and maternal features prove that she takes part in creation (arche, consultant and colleague of Yahweh). She is the World-Soul because her dress is the world and she is personalised in the people of Israel. The same features are attributed to Sekina in Jewish literature after the Old Testament. The Old Testament also reports on the nuptial relation of Yahweh and Sophia.
