Revolution and the Shift in the Historiography. Bolshevism in the New Perspective

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the works of John Marot collected in the book The October Revolution in Prospect and Retrospect. Those of Marot's claims that seem to stand out in comparison to the current historiography of October Revolution and politics of Bolshevik party are also presented. In this overview we attempt to juxtapose the author's perspective with the existing interpretations of the events described in his book and to assess how accurate are the points that Marot makes and to what degree they are truly innovative.
