Summary/Abstract: The book is a tool of cultural transfer, helping children and adults in different life situations (learning, leisure). Behind it there are people, publishers, printers, librarians who shape the culture at various levels (local, regional, national, international). Book institutions play a significant role in the intergenerational and intercultural transfer. The article presents the initiatives of the Workshop of Dictionary of Polish book labourers for the biographical registration of people associated with the process of creating, distributing and collecting prints in Poland.
