Summary/Abstract: Ten years after the terrible war crimes at Srebrenica, where more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims either disappeared or were killed, a video appeared, showing the execution of six Muslim civilians by reservists belonging to a para-military unit of the Serbian secret police. The video was shown at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague and also broadcasted by B92 in Belgrade – provoking a shock within the public in Serbia. The publication of the video was made possible through the courageous engagement of an individual: Jovan Mirilo, an unemployed anti-war activist of Croat origin living in the small Serbian town of Šid near the frontier with Croatia. Peter Miroschnikoff, Director of the German ARD Studio in Vienna, has interviewed Jovan Mirilo and asked him about the circumstances and consequences of his actions.
