Summary/Abstract: The relation between international migration and development is intensely studied and debated in the international forums, as well as in the national scientific circles. Nevertheless, it cannot be said that it has reached to a paradigm in this respect, the results being quite different from one country to another and, even in the case of a single country, the sense of the relation can fluctuate depending on the social, political and economic context and the form of the migration that prevails at a certain moment (temporary or permanent migration). Starting from the premise that the external migration of Romanians, at its current level, has a substantial impact on all the fields of activity and on Romanian society as a whole, this paper aims to focus on this impact in an analytical manner.
