Summary/Abstract: Te article presents the process of acquiring Opole by the Polish authorities until the end of 1945. For the organizing administration, the greatest problems were the destruction of the urban tissue, enormous difculties in provision, terrible state of security and eradication of property, conducted by the Red Army. Nonetheless, parts of the urban structure and industrial plants were activated. Furthermore, the population grew steadily. Trade and craf developed. Terefore, Polish cultural life began. Te action called national verifcation was conducted. Licensed political parties began their activity
