Summary/Abstract: The Europe 2020 strategy, launched in 2010 by the European Commission, continues the 2000 Lisbon Agenda, by upgrading its targets and completing them with new ones (regarding the green economy and inclusiv growth). The aim of the paper is to analyze the situation of Romania, by discussing the values of the eight statistical indicators measuring the EU 2020 targets and by formulating suggestions and proposals for policy makers.
