Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to examine the views of performers and performance trainers regarding timing in performance and to provide recommendations in this direction. This research is designed in a phenomenological pattern, which is a qualitative research pattern. The study group consisted of 6 instructors working at Ankara University State Conservatory and Gazi University Music Education Department in 2016- 2017 academic year. The data of the study were obtained by the semi-structured interview form and face-to-face interviews with the instructors. The data were grouped under specific headings by qualitative content analysis and put into a report. It has been determined that, in addition to the common ways and methods used with respect to timing in performance, the instructors prefer and apply the ways and methods that are appropriate to their individual competence and skills in terms of technique and musicality both for themselves and their students.
