Summary/Abstract: L. P. Lapteva recapitulates the history of Slavonic Studies in the Soviet communist era and she states it suffered heavy losses. She pays attention to the scholars who were employed at univeristies and institutes in Russia till the October Revolution and who were persecuted and repressed thereafter by Russian communists.
