Summary/Abstract: The article discusses some open problems and answers the question on handling and transfer of technical documentation of Metalna ECCE d.d. which become insolvent and that Regional Archives Maribor has been intensively rescuing for last two years. The demands of the insolvency senate were connected with the questions of the systematic protection and assuring of the access to the technical documentation for what the competent archives should take care of. With arguments, proved by legislation and rules of archival profession the suggested manner of safeguarding, protection and supervision of technical documentation was accepted. One succeeded to preserve the inner structure of the records that remain open for the users and assures the consideration of archival professional standards. That means, that records curator needs to treat the technical documentation as a whole and that it should not be alienate partly or in whole without the knowledge of the competent archives.
