Summary/Abstract: Within the present article we have tried to realize a complex analysis of the Italian participation in the First World War. By using more diverse sources, our research has been meant to outline both the events and their chronology during the period of the years 1915-1918 (from the moment Italy entered the war up to its end) as well as the importance of the Transylvanian Romanians from the Austro-Hungarian Army quartered on the Italian front. In what regards the founts used, we have focused our analysis on the articles from the Transylvanian Romanian press, that through its rubrics dedicated to the Italian front, has shaped a certain atmosphere specific to the front or details related to the battles and the more important events from the battlefield. In addition to this, within our article, we intend to present due to the press and the memoris belonging to the Transylvanian Romanians, the events scored in the Italian history during the First World War. We propose a brief introduction, we continue by presenting the context in which Italy entered the First World War, the development of the hostilities, a minimal analysis of the Italian political life and we conclude by emphasizing the consequences of the Great War and the Italians’ hopes for a more favorable peace. Our research intends to explore the memoirs, but at the same time can be integrated in the history of the images because our analysis is based on the Romanian soldiers’ relations that can also represent an otherness since we outline a series of events as seen by the combatants, even the Italians’ enemies (up to a certain point) from the battlefield.
