Summary/Abstract: Improvisational theatre may serve as a powerful tool in upper intermediate and advanced language courses. It is also an efficient tool in enhancing vocabulary acquisition, helping students to develop their speaking skills and boosting their confidence in spontaneous expression. Improvisation is very efficient in overcoming the seeming “alienation” of a foreign language, bringing it closer to the learners and helping them to internalize it.
